 The Homeroom Educational Services supports the education of
children in Cambria and San Luis Obispo County. Tutorial services are provided for
all students preschool to adult with emphasis in math and reading. Specialized
instruction is available to the Learning Disabled, Speech and Language Handicapped and the
Deaf. The Homeroom Teacher recognizes the unique differences in children's learning
and fosters the development of the genius in all children.
Since 1993, Kathleen McKinnon has been supporting the education of children in Cambria
and the North County. A background in Learning Disabilities and Communication
Handicaps provides her with a variety of methods to capture the interest of young minds
and motivate them to their full potential. "We all know," says Kathleen
"that children thrive with love and attention and are open to new ideas and
information when they feel safe." In the comfort of The Homeroom, Kathleen
opens the doors to math and reading giving students the skills and self-confidence needed
to succeed. Tutoring sessions are offered for grades K-8, and consultation for
children with special needs is also available. In addition to Kathleen's work,
sessions will be offered this fall for secondary students in the areas of math and
science, and a bilingual tutor is now available for the needs of ESL
students.
